Our Youth
Youth Club
The Our Lady and St Edmund of Abingdon Youth
Group meets weekly in term time to provide young
people aged between 12 and 18 within the Parish with
an opportunity to socialise together and develop
their faith development.
Meetings take place in the Parish Centre every
Sunday during term time between 19.45pm – 21.30pm
and normally feature a specific planned activity.
Recent and past activities have included pancake
races, a gladiator style jousting competition, a
theatrical performance, treasure hunts and quizzes,
with much more planned for the year.
There is also a more serious side to the club
with debates, fundraising for local charities, and
ongoing activities aimed at developing the youth’s
relationship with God.
For more information contact the Parish Office on

St Edmund’s Football Club
The Football Club was formed in 1980 at the
request of the Parish Priest at the time, Canon John
Crozier, to provide facilities for boys in the
Parish to learn to play football in a friendly but
disciplined way.
The club has steadily expanded and now runs teams
for boys aged from 6-16 years and for girls aged
from 9-13 years. Girls under 9 years can join the
boys’ under 7, under 8 or under 9 teams. Any
children interested in joining should get in touch
with the Club Secretary – Geoff Young – via the
Parish Office on 01235 559754.
