Servers and their Service

We are very fortunate that we have a loyal and committed group of servers who can be relied on to give a regular and dignified service to the Parishes in the Pastoral Area. The age range of the servers ranges from those who have recently made their First Holy Communion to adults.

Anyone, boy or girl man or woman, who has made their First Holy Communion, is eligible to be a server and we are always more than happy to welcome more to this most important ministry in our Parish.

The servers not only give regular commitment to the Sunday masses, but are also willing to come and serve on other occasions such as the Easter Services and First Holy Communion masses.

The younger servers who serve regularly give witness to not only their peers, but also to younger children in the Parish.

If you would like more information or request to become a server, please contact the Parish Office.

Guild of St StephenGuild of St Stephen

The aim of the Guild of Saint Stephen is to encourage servers to practice the highest standards of serving at the Church’s liturgy and so contribute to the whole community’s participation in a more fruitful worship of God. It also provides altar servers with a greater understanding of what they are doing so that they may serve with dignity and reverence.

The Guild has recently been setup in our Parish and membership is open to any server male or female, without limit of age, who can serve Mass, and has completed a minimum of six months regular and dignified service. Enrolment takes place at a special service during a Mass.
